slippers

They have now here in the Warehouse yarn which one can felt in the washing machine. Of course I had to try it out, I couldn't resist ;)

the finished slippers

the next pair is already almost finished knitting

thats how it shrinks
The next time I will take a photo of the slippers fresh from the washing machine. I was shocked first, because it looked so small. But they stretch nicely over shoe lasts, which gives them the nice shape.

journal workshop day 1

Today was the first day of the art journal workshop with Ailie Snow. We met yesterday evening for a first to know each other and look at her own samples. Today it was hands on and it was not what I expected. For some reason, I guess because it was organized by Creative Fibres I thought it would have more to do with fibre and also Ailie is a great textile artist. But it was more an art lesson, watercolour washes, gesso to give texture, stamping, stencelling, collage and finally add some text.

It was an interesting day, as I said not what I expected, but not disappointing at all. Tomorrow we are supposed to do some sort of self portrait in collage style like the hand.
